In an early morning action on Saturday, the police removed all protesters from Vijay Chowk and were taken to an undisclosed location by a bus, media reports said.

The Delhi police is on high alert and Section 144 has been deployed in the New Delhi district, reports said. Reports said that heavy security has been deployed in and around India Gate and Vijay Chowk.

However, the media is not being allowed in and around Vijay Chowk, TV reports said.

A number of protesters who stay put at Raisina Hill to protest the gangrape of a young girl were evacuated on early Sunday morning.

The protesters, who spend a chilly night in the open after they fought pitched battle with police throughout the day on Saturday, were taken into a bus by police.

Police had also picked up protesters from outside Congress chief Sonia Gandhi‘s 10, Janpath residence in the wee hours today.

In a surprise move, Gandhi had came out of her residence and met protesters late last night.

According to a protester, Gandhi told them “I am with you. I can’t tell when the justice will be delivered, but surely it will be. We will do something.”

The protesters when asked for a deadline, she said, “I can’t give you a deadline but action will be taken.”

The detentions came as part of a police plan to contain protest near Raisina Hill, the seat of power.

Four metro stations near India Gate and Raisina Hill have already been closed from this morning till further orders.

The stations which remained closed were Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhavan and Race Course.

  1. Now we have to teach Politicians some humane manners. The PM has been in the hiding saying not a word about the rape. He can organise all party meetings, fight all apposition and test the Parliament with a vote for Businessmen both foreign and Indian, to prosper with his great FDI policy and promotions for jobs. But when it comes to the people he is supposedly mute – he has no words. Neither does the President of India.

Here the whole nation is at rage and why should they come asking for these so called Premiers to say something. I guess these guys dont even know that their coming out in public and supporting the citizens will actually bring them into good books. Sangma was getting paranoid over his presidential candidature and made a big fuss out of it. Salman kurshied, chidambaram, sushma swaraj, Shiela, Sonia and that corruption fellow Arvind, Anna, Baba Ramdev, the great RSS, whoever that Modi is, the great prince Rahul, Advani, Chawhan, Maya, Mamtha, all the Didis and Dadas, the bureaucracy and why not all the members of the Parliament, these guys have so much of time to walk out walk in scream, fool around in the prestigious Parliament, and waste time…

President Obama took responsibility about his helplessness in handling gun laws, acknowledged the problem and stood by the families that lost their children and family members. He visited them thrice, i am sure he is much busier than all those guys above.but he had the commitment to admit to his hellessness.

PM come in front of the people and take responsiblity at least and then do the rest. remeber u too have a daughter !!! think of her and do it!
